Album Project Latest...

Hope all is well. Thought I'd drop a quick line to update you as to developments. I've spoken with Jesse Eigen and...it looks as if we will have the same 'house band' for this next album as featured on the first! Hoorah! As you know, Steph Grace Kennedy introduced me to her band following her fantastic performance in our film, and since we made the album together, Steph has had a little girl with Jesse who plays bass in the band and co-produced Perplexed Music the album! I'm so pleased that the band are as excited as I am at the prospect of a second album collaboration, with various members expressing how pleased they continue to be with how the first album song recording is something they continue to be really proud of and stands up as high quality.

Recording plan: The idea is that we get the band backing tracks recorded in the first week and then use the second week for various guest vocalists and instrumentalists to record. It's looking like late March 23 but may be later now, as we need to coordinate things with Jesse and the band and child-minders 😉 etc. Jack, the pianist also moonlights with China Crisis who are constantly touring these days and so that is also a consideration when scheduling.

You'll also be pleased to know that my initial projected budget has now been refined somewhat and I've managed to shave about £8000 from it, bringing the cost of this second album project down to the level of the first. My original expenditure calculations were coming in around £27500, but I believe it is possible to do it for about £19K.

When I have the final details of band members' availability from Jesse, I will speak again to the studio if a new start date is required to accommodate all and then I'll start putting together the Kickstarter Campaign. Once this is done I would be really grateful if you could share it on your own social media platforms and within your social groups, to get the news out there asap and give the campaign its best chance of reaching it's target. Thanks guys. Unlike other funding sites, funding is not available unless the campaign reaches its target. Whilst this may seem disadvantageous in comparison to other funding site platforms where could run the campaign and if we fell short of the target figure still move forward with reduced funding, the advantages of KS far out-way the disadvantage for me, especially where flexibility of rewards are concerned and the fact that the budget really has no contingency 'fat' on it, and so anything less than the desired figure starts to undermine the quality we target as essential for our projects. I'm hoping that as successful KS campaigners in the past, we will all share a similar its appropriateness for this next funding process.
